About the Area
Denilquin The town
Deniliquin is situated approx 75 kms from the Victorian border and the townships of Echuca/Moama in the renowned Riverina district. Set on the picturesque Edward River where there are plenty of water activities for all to enjoy. The township has a population of approximatley 8000 and is largley dependant on farming with rice, wheat, barley, canola, oats, wool, fat lambs, dairy products, fruit, timber and cattle being some of the many farming facets in the area. Deni as its affectionatly known lies at the centre of four irrigation districts which cover approx 725,000 hectares. Tourism also plays a large part in the region with the town on the fringe of the world's largest Red Gum forest, with plenty of bushwalking tracks, quiet fishing spots and fantastic camping and four wheel driving in and around the forest and rivers. Every September sees utes and people from all over the Australia come to the the now world famous Deni ute muster, a great long weekend had by all who attend. There are also plenty of caravan parks and motels in the town to rest the weary traveller and these make ideal spots to stay a while in the township to get that real country feel where nature, farming and socialising all meet. Apart from holidaying, Deniliquin is also a great place to live and bring up the family, we have a terrific choice of schools, a large range of cafes to enjoy a cake and coffee from as well as enjoying the beautiful weather that the area gets. Whether you're just passing through or you are looking for a place to holiday and or settle down this is one area you need to stop and look at. I'd recommend it!
